Gowrings has been established for over 85 years and is one of the most well-known and respected car dealerships in Hampshire, Berkshire and the Thames Valley. In 2002 the dealership in Newbury was bought by City Motor Holdings and a new dealership Gowrings Ford of Basingstoke was purpose built on Houndmills Autoplaza, bringing the Ford franchise back to the town (Basingstoke had been without a Ford main dealer for 5 years). In 2005 Derek Morgan joined as Managing Director which has seen the whole company go from strength to strength. Gowrings of Basingstoke is a Ford main dealer, home to a large used car operation boasting over 100 cars on the forecourt, Service Department, Parts Department and delivery as well as Rapid Fit. The company employs in excess of 100 people across the two sites in Basingstoke and Newbury.
