City Honda gain 3rd award for customer satisfaction in 2009
Posted on 20 Jan 2010
Honda (UK) is very proud of their reputation for excellent customer service, which they have built up over many years.
Honda’s dedication to customer service has seen them achieve 2nd position in the 2009 JD Power Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Survey, and they continue to strive to improve.
Since 2005 Honda has invested in a team of dedicated staff to call a sample of customers who visit Honda dealerships either to buy cars or have their current cars serviced and ask them about the level of service received.
This is much more than a measurement programme; Honda and their dealers listen to individual customer comments and then act on them to ensure that Honda delivers a really great experience.
The results from this programme, called SpeakBack has shown that some dealers are really making great strides forward. City Honda has shown outstanding performance in their area and Honda is proud to give them one of only 26 Quarter 3 awards for customer excellence available across the country.
A City Honda spokesperson said: “This award means a lot to all of us, everyone has worked really hard to always deliver on the promises we make to our customers. I am very proud of all the team here at City Honda and we are looking to consolidate on this improvement and be even better in the future.
These awards are just part of a whole new initiative to further improve the service Honda and their dealers give to customers. Their target is to ensure that our customers receive the best customer experience in town. This is a big challenge with the Honda team benchmarking, and setting their sites on, the levels of customer service offered by companies such as John Lewis, Waitrose and Apple Computers.
Michael Doyle, Manager - Customer Understanding, Honda (UK) said: "We're very pleased to see {dealer name} pick up this award for outstanding achievement in customer satisfaction. What they have shown is that they work consistently to improve their customer’s experience, and go to great lengths to meet the needs of people in {area}. Long may their hard work, attitude and commitment to excellent customer experiences continue."

Press Release for Dealer Recognition Awards

City Honda wins Customer Service Award.
Honda (UK) is very proud of their reputation for excellent customer service, which they have built up over many years. Since 2005 Honda has invested in a team of dedicated staff to call almost all their customers who visit Honda dealerships either to buy cars or have their current cars serviced and ask them about the level of service received.

Phil Bell, City Honda Sales Manager says: “This award means a lot to all of us, everyone has worked really hard to always deliver on the promises we make to our customers. Honda Insight Review
Posted on 02 Apr 2009
How good a driver are you? Most people think they’re pretty accomplished, though we all see motorists do annoying, idiotic and even dangerous things.
But these days measuring your ability behind the wheel isn’t just about getting from A to B without causing an accident. Higher fuel prices and concern for the environment means there’s a strong move towards ‘eco-driving’ – the art of getting more mpg for your money. The first car in the world that can teach you how to do it as you’re travelling has just been launched, and it’s the all-new Honda Insight.
It features as standard a system called Eco-Assist which coaches you to drive in a more environmentally aware fashion. The most obvious example is the digital speedo, which glows green if you’re doing well – for example, by being very light with your right foot – and blue when you’re not. The better you do, the more flowers illuminate on a cumulative dashboard read-out and you can even be awarded a virtual trophy!
Other innovations include an ECON button, which puts the car into ultra-frugal mode. It means smoother operation of the automatic gearbox, a gentler throttle response and more efficient use of the air-con no matter how you drive.
The Insight is a hybrid, running on a 1.3-litre 88bhp petrol engine mated to a 14bhp electric motor. Their combined performance is impressive; official fuel economy is 64.2mpg, while CO2 is just 101g/km. Owners pay just £15 for road tax and avoid London’s congestion charge altogether.
Like Toyota and the Prius, Honda likes hybrid technology because it doesn’t produce the harmful nitrous oxides and particulates of a diesel. The aim is to bring it to more people by undercutting its existing model, the Civic Hybrid, and the Prius on price.
It's certainly a striking looking machine, with a deep central cut in the front bumper, swooping five-door bodyshell and high rear end. The latter means the boot is a massive 408 litres, unheard of in this size of vehicle. Add in a stylish and modern interior that will easily take five adults and it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that Honda has created a truly innovative new car.
Three trims are available but every Insight comes with a high level of standard kit. SE gets 15-inch alloys, climate control and electric folding door mirrors. ES adds bigger wheels, cruise control, front fog lamps, leather interior and paddleshift gear change. ES-T includes sat-nav and hands-free communications technology.
This Insight is actually the second generation of the car, and a bonus point to anyone who remembers the MkI. Launched in 1999 it was light years ahead of its time, with staggering performance of 83mpg and 80g/km CO2 emissions. It was so advanced it had the twin failings of being ugly and impractical and consequently only a few hundred were sold. The replacement has been a decade coming but worth the wait. It’s a totally different machine and gives everyone the chance to be a environmentally aware at an affordable price. Now that’s an achievement worth getting a trophy for.
